Echo Database Online Tutorial This Tutorial is available
by clicking the Tutorial button or Alt +
t.
To search for an existing patient there are three options. The first is to use the search fields in
the main screen, the second is to select the Search Screen and the third option
searches for groups of patients with the Advanced Search
Screen.
Type in all or part of the
following fields, UR (ID), last name, first name, sex or age. Entering the Tab button or the Enter
button will move the cursor to the next field to the right. When complete, click the Do Search button or Alt + s, and echocardiography studies
and patients matching these criteria, will be displayed in the
Toolbar.
The Toolbar will display the
patients UR number, their last name in capital letters followed by their first
initial, the date of the echocardiography study and whether it was a Standard
study or whether it was a Post Procedure study.
It is important to
understand that the records displayed in the Toolbar relate to specific echocardiography studies and
not to patients. Therefore, a
patient may be entered into the system, but not yet had any echocardiography
study recorded, and therefore there will be no record displayed in the Toolbar
as yet. If there are no
echocardiography studies listed for this patient, and the button Update Patient
is pressed, the following error message is displayed:-
This instructs the user to
open either the Standard Study or the Post Procedure Study screen in order to
enter a new echocardiography study.
The Search
Screen, may be accessed via the screen by clicking Search Existing
Patients.
There are a
number of options available. Each
column can be re-ordered by clicking the header, for example the list can be
reorganised by last name in alphabetical order. Clicking the OK button or Alt + o will result in the patient
being loaded to the Toolbar and any echocardiography studies present will be
listed in order of date. If there
are no echocardiography studies, the same remitted as above will be displayed
requiring the user to enter a new echocardiography study.
